They say abs are made in the kitchen and that couldn’t be more true. That is why we like to at least meal prep our breakfast on Sunday’s that we can set ourselves up for a week of success.
The easiest/most delicious/nutritious breakfast we like to prep is overnight oats but don’t be fooled because these don’t taste like your ordinary oats. Tastes like dessert but oh so nutritious for you physically and mentally! If your first meal of the day is on point, you are more likely to continue that way of eating the rest of the day.
I’m going to highlight a few of the ingredients and what they do for your health:
Chia Seeds are packed with a powerful punch of antioxidants and their high protein/fiber content can aid in weight loss.
Goji Berries are loaded with Vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, fiber, and zinc and contain all 8 amino acids.
Flax Seed are your best source of Omega-3 fats if you’re vegan. They are known for heart health benefits and can reduce cancer risk.
Maca Powder is a Peruvian plant that helps with hormonal balance, boosting energy, increasing fertility and fighting free radicals. It also has a ‘nutty’ flavor that we enjoy.
Raw Cacao Powder is a rich source of polyphenols which is a naturally occurring antioxidant. Polyphenols improve brain function and increases the level of nitric acid which improves blood flow.
So as you can see, this isn’t your ordinary oat dish and you can start your mornings off with a bang if you include this delicacy. We hope you enjoy and please let us know what type of things you like to add to your oats!
