WE’RE ENGAGED!
On February 1st, Alex and I traveled to New York City to be a part of a health awareness body painting campaign. Our focus was on cardiovascular disease and the importance of a plant-based diet. While we were there, Alex orchestrated a surprise of a lifetime!
The week leading up to the big day brought about several unwelcome surprises, the biggest was a polar vortex, a blizzard in Buffalo NY, canceling and delaying flights followed by recorded breaking arctic temperatures for New York State. Little did I know amongst the artistically based chaos and commotion of Times Square, Alex made secret plans to propose. Alex couldn’t think of a better way to ask me to marry him then body painted in Times Square for the world to see and to show me how much I meant to him.
We were honored to be artistically transformed by well known artist, Trina Merry. painted After getting painted and transported to Times Square, Trina wrote “Will you marry me” on Alex’s painted back. Once I saw the question, Alex properly dropped to a knee and proposed. With dozens of spectators accumulating among all the commotion, I put on the ring and of course said YES! Alex later was recorded on camera explaining to the filmmaker on scene, “Brittany has been by my side and supported our drastic lifestyle change 100% and I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her. I couldn’t imagine a more expressive and poetic moment that encompasses our story and us as a couple.” Ahh the best surprise ever!
Fast forward a few months and we are now officially in the wedding planning process! We are excited to announce that we are collaborating with Buffalo Indie Weddings to bring awareness to the importance of dietary preferences when it comes to the big day. We aspire to change the landscape from the traditional wedding dinner to alternative but delicious options that adhere to those who have dietary restrictions whether by allergy or by choice.
