Bone char, gelatin, and shellac, oh my! Beware this Halloween…your bags of candy may not be so much fun anymore.
If you’re under the impression that fruity, juicy or sour candy is vegan, you are mistaken. Surprisingly, a lot of candy contains ingredients such as gelatin, shellac, bone char and carmine. Gross right? So we have compiled a list below of vegan friendly candy that is just as fun and won’t break the bank. There is a good amount of new vegan marketed candy out right now but the price can become overwhelming especially if you live in a neighborhood that gets a lot of traffic. So check out our list below and I’m positive that you can find something satisfying on there.
Even if you’re not vegan, you can become a switch witch this year. A switch witch is someone who swaps non-vegan candy for the vegan-friendly kind!
Below, you will find a list of the specialty vegan candy that is more expensive but definitely delicious! You may not be able to find these at your local grocery store but I have included links if you are inclined to order online…
