Buffalo wing sauce is not just a condiment in our area, it’s a testament.
Being Buffalo born and bred, we grew up with buffalo flavored everything! You can’t go to a restaurant and not find something made buffalo style on the menu or have the ability to order a side of wing sauce.
For the Super Bowl this year I decided to make a party favorite, a plant-based version of buffalo chicken wing dip. This app is guilt free as it does not contain cream cheese or mozzarella which adds a lot of fat and calories to the standard dip. It’s also meat and mock meat free so it does not have any soy or vital wheat gluten products. Not to mention, it received the stamp of approval from omnivores!
Better yet, it only took 10 minutes to prepare and allowed for an easy clean up as I only dirtied a food processor and 1 spoon.
Next time you’re in a hurry to whip up a quick appetizer for a party or work event, try this buffalo hummus. Serve with a side of cut up vegetables, pita bread or tortilla chips. I promise you won’t be disappointed and neither will your guests!
For the recipe below, the ONLY hot sauce we use is Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (I know this is a Buffalo thing) but it’s the absolute best!
